This term we have been learning all about the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age period. We learned that the earliest humans lived in caves and led nomadic lifestyles. We learned about the different tools and weapons made from stone and how these were later made of bronze during the Bronze Age. Did you know that bronze is an alloy? This is a metal made by combining two or more metals. Bronze consists of copper and tin. Of course as humans moved from being hunter-gatherers and developed better tools, they settled together and started farming and raising animals. By the Iron Age, Britain had communities who lived together, often on hill forts.
One of the fun ways to learn about historical periods is through books. We have read Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. Have a listen to this story read by Valeria and Rasheed in year 3.
We had a go at changing the ending of the story. Have a look at some of our stories below and enjoy.
