Egg Parents
In year 2, we are learning about The Arctic and Antarctica with a focus on penguins.
In class we have been discussing how penguins care for their delicate eggs to protect them from the harsh conditions of Antarctica.
We wanted to give the children the experience of caring for a precious egg and so they have been given a hard boiled egg to care for over the month of November.
It is very important that penguins stay with their egg at all times to stop it dying of cold or breaking on the ice so we will be checking the children have the egg with them in school every day.
If they wish, they can build a nest for their egg to keep it safe and warm!
Any children who’s egg survives until the end of November with their egg in tact will receive a certificate for being a successful penguin parent.
Good luck!
